The speed of Dot-matrix in characters per second can vary from 50- 500+ cps. It all depends on the quality of print desire. Dot matrix printer use ribbon for ink and has a lot of noise factor. Dot matrix print quality can be 9, 18 or 24 (The highest quality # is 24) which can produce nearly similar type letter but if you look closely it is slightly different.
