Johannes Gutenberg
The history of printing press began with an interventionist named Johannes Gutenberg. Johannes Gutenberg was a German interventionist who invented a movable type printer. Johannes was born on 1395 and started printing at 1438. On 1455 Johannes finished his first movable printing which was the “Forty-Two-Line” Bible. His invention changed the world by communication and learning worldwide. Because of his creation producing multiple of books was easier and faster. On 1448, he went back to Mainz. 2 years later he make a printing shop.He borrowed 800 guilders from Johan Fust. He then was a victim of unfair and unhonest business associates which took over his business. This caused him to be in poverty. On 1452 in December, Johannes was in debt and wasn’t able to pay Fust's loan. Fust then took over Johannes Gutenberg's printing business which included production of bibles because of his financial trouble .
Gutenberg printing pressed used movable pieces to quickly create pages. He was able to print about 1000 pages per day. The old method was able to print 40-50 pages per day. His printing press had metal symbols and arrange them in a certain order to create a word or sentence. He would then die the blocks and arrange it on the printing press and then pressed it on the paper. The printing press impacted society because it allowed a large amount for written copies to be made at the same time. Gutenberg really impacted society.
